Water Resources Minister: Water reached Sleiman al-Halabi station from which it will be pumped to residential neighborhoods in Aleppo
Water Resources Minister Nabil al-Hassan announced that water has reached Sleiman al-Halabi station on Tuesday, and from there it will be pumped to residential neighborhoods in Aleppo.

Al-Hassan said that the pumping of water from al-Khafseh station in Aleppo countryside to Sleiman al-Halabi station began on Monday evening, and now that water has reached the second station it will be pumped to Tishreen reservoirs that supply many neighborhoods in the city, adding that later today water should also reach Bab al-Nairab station which supplies the rest of the city.

The Minister said that this achievement is the result of cooperation with the Electricity Ministry and Aleppo Governorate which allowed water to be supplied in the shortest time possible after the Syrian Arab Army liberated al-Khafseh station from terrorists in a precision military operation that preserved the station and its equipment.

He went on to say that water being supplied to Aleppo will be increased gradually as stations undergo maintenance after remaining without repairs for several years due to terrorism.

For his part, Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuheir Kharboutli said that power has been provided to al-Khafseh station via a line from Tishreen dam, affirming that the Ministry is committed to restoring electricity to Aleppo city.

In turn, Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab said that Aleppo has been completely deprived of water for more than two months, all thanks to the heroic actions of the Syrian Arab Army which liberated al-Khafseh station and secured Aleppo’s water resources, adding that all relevant establishments have been working tirelessly during the past few days to repair al-Khafseh station under the direct supervision of ministers and Premier Imad Khamis.
